The chart function in COCA includes 5 registers: spoken, fiction, magazine, newspaper, academic, and an example of the bar chart for 'he' is shown.
Based on your intuitions, draw up register charts for:
yesterday
beautiful
suppose
price
assume
such
Compare you charts with the ones produced by COCA.
For which words were your charts similar to those of COCA? For which words did your charts clearly differ from COCA? For the latter, now you have seen the COCA charts, why do you think your intuitions deviated from COCA?
