John Flowerdew

John Flowerdew


John Flowerdew is a Professor in the Department of English, City University of Hong Kong. As well as writing and editing a number of books, including four edited collections on academic discourse, he has published widely in the leading Applied Linguistics, Language Teaching and Discourse Analysis journals, focusing on academic and political discourse. One of his main areas of interest is writing for publication. His most recent edited book (with Vijay Bhatia and Rodney Jones) is Advances in Discourse Studies (Routledge) (2008). His forthcoming book is Critical Discourse Analysis in Historiography (Palgrave Macmillan).

David Hall is Associate Dean for Higher Degree Research in the Faculty of Human Sciences at Macquarie University. He has taught curriculum innovation, management, and language for special purposes at masters level, and units on curriculum, leadership and linguistics research at doctoral level. David has lived and worked in a number of countries, including Thailand, Malaysia, Iran, Rwanda, France and England. He has published on distance education, language for specific purposes, learner autonomy and discourse analysis.

 


Richard Watson Todd

Richard

Richard Watson Todd has worked at KMUTT for nearly 20 years where he is Associate Professor and Head of the Centre for Research and Services in the School of Liberal Arts. He is the author of Much Ado about English and Classroom Teaching Strategies, and has published numerous articles in the areas of text linguistics, computer-based analyses of language, and curriculum innovation.
