After pondering about the current educational situation in this Gen C era where contents/knowledge are accessible on the Internet, I surmise that 4 characteristics are key to students' and societies' survival in the future where Artificial Intelligence is emerging: These are Curiosity, Creativity, Critical thinking, and Compassion. These 4 traits should be fundamental to students' learning. In fact, some of these, (creative thinking and critical thinking) have been promoted by most univiersities in Thailand. However, it is not clear to what extent students have a chance to develop these characteristics, especially when they are assigned to do group work or project. Also, when it comes to assessment and evaluation, it is not clear what aspects of these characteristics are actually assessed, especially in the current system of outcome-based education.
